Peridore Custom Sticks is rapidly growing. Every day David is receiving more and more orders and he needs help. I’ve known “Dave-O” for 16 years now and though we haven’t actually seen each other in probably 5, thanks to social media I’ve been able to watch this awesome enterprise take off and grow into something amazing.
A few days ago I had an ah-ha moment. I’m a musician, always loved music, play the drums, but my passion is writing. A guy I look up to, one William Manspeaker, musician of some orange Kool-Aid red riding wolf fame or something (this isn’t about me or him, nonetheless) constantly drives home this concept of living your dreams. I read it on his feed all the time and I can honestly say, though I always felt it and had already made that leap, to live my dreams, his open tent alien Internet revival has awakened that spirit in me. And, though I am a puppet in this, reaching out to David and lending him this here, what you are reading and will forevermore be bombarded with is an extension of that wise sage advice.
David made that long leap to live his dream. He suffered some because of it, as any of us do when we do something so off the hook, but I didn’t and don’t think David will fail either. As I watched David do his magic I realized and I truly believe this when I say it, he has a quality product that appeals to a strong consumer market—and he has a pretty powerful support network to make it happen. Including the featured artist you are about to read about.
Peridore Custom Sticks, or PCS happens to be the new name now, By The Way or (BTW)! This is part of the grand plan at taking that leap.
My role in this is to use what I know to help him succeed. I intend to support David like he supports all his friends including the music community and use my powers of writing well to make this whole endeavor one bad add motherfucker.
Peridore Custom Sticks (PCS) a small, family operated enterprise and every inch of what goes into this is American made and the money stays in America and our communities. In fact, you could say it stays in the music community, for the most part.
All he needs now is someone(s) to market it and help it become what it deserves. Myself, Joey Gonzalez and everyone involved intend to support David as his friend and as someone we see the dream in. Part of my plan here is to provide weekly interviews with customers and bands and promote what’s best about this business. Our hopes are to share you so you will share us. This, like the music community is a socially driven endeavor. We have to support each other in order to make this thing work.
That said, I’m honored that this first interview is with an old friend and band mate, Nathan Richardson drummer for Hell Came Home.
The heavy, thunder infested, face melting unruly metal sound characteristic of HCH is accented wholly and nicely by what Nathan throws down hidden back there in his likely Satanic brass laden hall of torture.
And what I like most about Nathan and HCH are these guys are as quality and homegrown as PCS. The fit is so tight not even Dave-O and his big old thunder stick could penetrate that bond. The fact that both these guys have come to this, old friends, is no surprise. Nathan’s skill and dedication, like David’s is what makes them successful. Both are living their dreams.
Nathan Richardson Interview
PCS: Give us a little history about the super human drummer that is Nathan Richardson. How long have you been playing in general, and who or what are your inspirations?
Nathan: I'm a 35 yr old bastard who has had love for music and live shows at an early age, thanks to my parents for taking me to concerts starting at the age of 10. I've always had the passion and desire for music and performing since I was young.
Fantasizing of putting makeup on like Kiss and filling in for Peter Criss was always a dream. I started playing drums around the age of 14 at a friend’s house. We would jam Metallica Kill’em All so loud, get all psyched up and He would play my guitar and I'd play his drums. It came much easier for me than guitar at that point.
So I knew this was it, I was a drummer! My inspiration growing up was a wide variety of bands, which was my bipolar taste for music, but bands such as Metallica, Sex Pistols, Misfits, Pantera, Soundgarden, Ratt, Kiss, Nirvana, Neurosis, Tool and so on, but the most influential band of all would be The Melvins. I just thought they were the fucking Best! But my style was evolved from drummers such as Dale Crover, Dave Grohl, Igor Cavalera, Danny Carey, Vinnie Paul and Neil Peart. There's so many more, the list goes on and on but that would be the top I'd say.
PSC: Tell us a little bit about Hell Came Home and how you ended up there? How’s that going, aside from totally kick ass?
Nathan: Hell Came Home came from our singer Danny Dunn and guitarist Reed Thomas meeting in California and starting a band up together out there. Long story short they moved, kept in touch and starting emailing demos and tracks to one another. Danny brought me some demos to listen too, approaching me to join and i thought the shit was solid as hell. So I jumped on with them. They recruited Badass Jeremy Starkey on guitar and Hellar bassist and producer Andy Christman on bass and that’s how we formed the final product. And here we are...kicking ass, and having a blast. Things are going Great and we are looking to bigger and better things!!
PCS: Tell us about your history with Peridore Custom Sticks. How long have you been using Peridore Custom Sticks?
Nathan: I have actually been with Peridore Custom Sticks for a year now and I Fucking Love Them! I had talked to Joey from Warbeast/Superjoint Ritual/PHA and The Illegals about Peridore Sticks and I thought they looked amazing and heard nothing but great things. Plus, my buddy Bryan Scott from Erasing Never had started using them and told me how kick ass they were. So I got in touch with David Peridore and started using them and was totally blown away!! They felt great, were solid as hell, had great response, cool o-rings for grip and all. They were the real deal!! I was sold and haven't looked back!! Still the best stick I've used, hands down!! Even though I think David ran out of a few o-rings and threw a couple of his cock rings on there...
PCS: Speaking of cock-rings, why did you make the switch to Peridore Custom Sticks?
Nathan: I switched to Peridore Sticks due to the simple fact they lasted longer and were more solid than any stick I've ever used! Plus, they are Totally custom made to your specs! And American Made!! I have never played such a solid and great feeling stick.
PCS: What’s one thing you might say to a drummer who might be considering Peridore Custom Sticks?
Nathan: I would say if you want total badassery in drumsticks, this is it! Total Custom to your liking, and last longer than any pair of wooden sticks you would go buy or order from any music store. These are it!! Peridore Sticks for life!! GO BUY EM!
There’s not a whole lot I can add or say to that. I will note this is an awesome freaking interview and thanks a million Nate for sharing this!
One more important thing I would like to note, “Peridore Sticks” is now Peridore Custom Sticks (PCS)!
This is all part of rebranding and making this product easier for you to get!
Hang with us through the changes and do your part, buy these sticks!
