The fact that someone might read one of these PCS blog testimonials and not immediately run out the house, all wild like and down the street hands in the air, to their local Peridorecustomsticks.com small town website and buy them with that “I’m huge and addicted and will do anything to have these sticks” look in their eye, your tobacco chewing grandma might say “by the country heap full”, is mind blowing!
This next interview with none other than the one and only, Casey Jarvis, of the country/rap sensation, Jelly Roll, falls totally in line with what every other PCS artist is claiming (and I’ve been saying all along): PCS are durable, the grips are amazing, and PCS is changing (improving) how drummers play.
This interview, once again, without a doubt lays claim to all of that. Repetition=science, yo, facts, which means truth. We’re telling the truth here so we can sell sticks and make you a better drummer. We break it down easy though, just in case you slept through math.
The thing I do differently when I do an interview revolves around this concept of what PCS does, provide a quality, game changing stick, in my case, information, that wins loyal customers. When I interview a PCS artist I want to talk on the phone to get a sense of the kind of person they are for one, but to really gauge how they feel about the stick. Anyone can say, “I like the stick,” but there is more to PCS than like. I know this. My questions always center around three main points to define exactly the kind of people that use PCS and why they use and love them. I try to get at what they would say to get you hooked as the future customer.
Because it comes from an experienced drummers actual mouth, my job is actually pretty easy. The truth is in what Casey said and I just try to do the best I can to make sure you read what he says.

Casey really hit the mark here, and thank you for that. I told Casey at the end of our interview what he gave me was marketing gold. This translates to you and I once again getting a glimpse of the power of these sticks and to give you the better thousand-foot view, let me just say, first, he is an awesome dude and he gives great interview! He’s all around knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. Second, his experience as a touring working drummer provides a great testimonial for how PCS has improved his drumming. And, lastly, his technical expertise allows us to gauge what it is that makes PCS so vital to the drumming and his music experience. We also talked about a follow-up interview concerning his experience with PCS in the studio, like measuring decibels all nerd dirty like. Dude is smart.
Thanks too, Casey, for taking some time on your day off on the road to speak with PCS. I’m sure the truck stop was full of fun things like probably winnable gaming machines and very likeable older women, always respect your elders, I agree, but you took the time to talk to me. Hope it didn’t cost you and if it did, well, just think of all the money you saved and doctor’s visits adverted by playing PCS! You can thank me later!

PSC Drumstick Blogger: What’s your experience as a drummer? How long have you been playing and what are your inspirations?
Casey Jarvis, Jelly Roll: I have a picture of me holding a drumstick when I was a baby. I come from a musical family, music is in my blood on both sides of the family; my mom and dad played about every instrument, music was always encouraged, my mom was actually in Highway 101. I pretty much have always been involved with music in some way my whole life. I like all genres. I became focused on drums when I was about ten years old. I played in high school drumline and marching band and naturally found my way to a drum set. Now my skill is fifty percent education and experience and fifty percent blind luck. That sounds funny but drumming just comes out of you sometimes and some of the stuff I do just happens. Which actually relates to the sticks because I find myself being able to play harder and faster than ever.
PCS Drumstick Blogger: That’s a great point and perfecr segway to the next question. How has PCS changed or improved your skill?
Casey Jarvis, Jelly Roll: PCS allows me to play faster and better than I have ever played. It allows me to test myself, how fast I play, the types of rolls and beats I use, my style is much improved and my skill set is definitely more dynamic.
PCS Drumstick Blogger: Those are some powerful words! Can you give some examples the connection between the features of the stick and how you have improved?
Casey Jarvis, Jelly Roll: Technically, I love the O-Rings. At first, I thought it was a weird idea. I kind of like the natural feel. But, I tried them and was blown away. The grips are amazing and have completely changed the game for me. The O-Ring, specifically, allows me to maintain the perfect fulcrum by giving me an actual gauge where the fulcrum point should be. For example, I play so fast that I constantly struggled with losing my fulcrum. The stick would slide forward in my hand, which made me squeeze hard and wore out my hand quicker. I mean, to have a tangible marker to gauge your fulcrum, which also keeps the stick in place! I would have never guessed. I want to say this too, this is important, the O-Ring, because of this mark I have a point that allows me to study and measure my technique. I’m into science and I like to know things that other people might think are boring. I’ve thought several times about an intelligent drumstick that can allow me to gauge fulcrum using scientific method, but could never really get my mind around it. PCS does that and it’s completely amazing. It just makes so much sense.
PCS Drumstick Blogger: So, how does all this science translate for you?
Casey Jarvis, Jelly Roll: The sweetest, sickest, most awesome shows I’ve ever player were with PCS. I can play as hard as I can, as fast as I can with no limit. Again, it’s amazing and I can’t imagine not having them. Total game changer. I mean, man, I’ve been playing the same set for a month and barely have a couple chips!
PCS Drumstick Blogger: How do these measure up to those other sticks on the market?
Casey Jarvis, Jelly Roll: Most sticks break in the first hour that I play. *Said with a chuckle* I’m touring all the time, around 150 shows a year and then there’s recording, practice. I go through a lot of sticks so there’s cost too. The real thing that matters most, and note this, tell your people this, when you’re playing
PCS you are not even thinking about the stick. Your mind is one hundred percent focused on your playing because you are secure with the notion that I can count on my drumstick. PCS is a good stick and it makes my job easier.
The conversation ended with us talking about how he hopes to experiment with PCS in the studio and possibly doing a follow up article on the technical aspects of PCS. We know something good is going on with them numbers, now we want to test it!
I think the take-aways here are, the real jaw dropper for me, was the fact he uses PCS to measure his grip and that these super durable sticks and hard to break and hard to beat.
Thanks again, Casey, for sharing all this and keep them sticks a moving! Can’t wait to talk again!
